‘Movie Review : Radhe : Your Most Wanted Bhai
It is now a history that choreographer turned director Prabhu Deva made superhit movie ‘Wanted’ with Salman Khan and during last 12 years after it, He worked with Akshay Kumar for Rowdy Rathore, Sing is Bling; with Ajay Devgan for Action Jackson, Shahid Kapoor for R..Rajkumar and Salman for Dabangg-3. All these were action movies with nothing new or creative. In spite of this fact, except Sing is Bling and Action Jackson remaining all were box office hits.
Prabhudeva, who makes movies for masses in South, gave the same treatment to Hindi movies. When I saw trailer of ‘Radhe’, its inferior nature was clear to understand, however when I came across some positive feedback on social media by self-declared movie experts, I decided to watch it and this is what I faced as an experience.
I’m grateful to Prabhudeva that length of this torture is less than two hours. It means the duration of watching what you already know is 1 hour 50 minutes ONLY. Withing first 10 minutes, any sensible person can guess that there is nothing creative to watch.
How encounter specialist Radhe (Salman Khan) finishes villain Rana (Randeep Huda) who is running a drugs racket in Mumbai, is the one-line story of movie. Except Radhe and Rana, there are only two main characters in movie; one is show piece Disha Patni and her foolish elder brother Jackie Shroff. Why the character of Jackie Shroff is shown so foolish, is beyond understanding. All other people in Radhe are just for the use of fight scenes only.
It is a boon watch Radhe online, as we can fast forward the unwanted songs and scenes and finish the punishment. I wish all such movies may be released at OTT platforms only.
What is there in a Radhe, except a predictable and routine story and unwanted songs? The answer may be ‘Swag Se Karenge Sab Ka Swagat’ style of Salman which is now 12 years old and the cliché fighting scenes. Watching all these content again and again create nausea and nothing else.
It is funny and pitiable that 55 years old Salman still tries to look young. How a dialogue like ‘Ek Baar Maine Commitment Kar Li’ would be appreciated after long 12 years? He can give nothing to viewers because he is drowned in self-love and self-appreciation. Thus the fact remains that Among all the three Khans, only Amir is one who always tries to give something new with his versatile roles. In Radhe, it is a shock to see Jackie Shroff in such an inferior role and one can’t understand as why he said ok for such role. On the other hand, Marathi actors Siddharth Jadhav and Pravin Tarde have done well in their small roles.
Radhe is a remake of 2017 Korean movie ‘Outlaws’. It is taken for granted by the producers that the movie of Salman if released on Eid, it would be successful. It is somewhat true because Salman goes on topless (with shirtless body) as well as movie makers and fans of Salman perform all their duties proving themselves brainless. At present movie theaters are closed due to Corona pandemic and hence it will be a secret as to how many people watched Radhe online which is released on Eid.
