Javed Khan Amrohi, a well-known and veteran character actor in Hindi cinema, passed away today.
He was 50 years old. He has played various characters in nearly 150 films. Apart from this, he has also entertained the audience by portraying different characters in the world of TV. According to sources, Javed Khan was suffering from breathing problems and was bedridden for the past one year. He was admitted to Surya Nursing Home in Santa Cruz, where he breathed his last. Both his lungs had failed. He will be cremated this evening at the Oshiwara crematorium.
Apart from ‘Lagaan’ in 2001, his performances in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Chak De India’ were also highly appreciated. His roles in films such as Noorie, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Prem Rog, Woh Saat Din, Tridev, Aashiqui, Baaghi, Sadak etc. were particularly notable. Javed Khan also acted in many TV serials like Mirza Ghalib, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Nukkad, Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai, Ghar Jamai, Giddar, Vishnupuran, Shaktiman. Javed Khan Amrohi also used to give acting lessons to students as a teacher at Zee Institute of Media Arts.
