Plot Summary – Mickey Arora (Ranbir Kapoor), who represents the second generation of a wealthy Delhi-based business family, and his best friend Mannu Dabas (Anubhav Singh Bassi) have yet another venture. Making break-ups of young people who are tired of love affairs and laugh. Now Dabas’s marriage is fixed with Kinchi (Monica Chaudhary) which he does not want to do. He gives Mickey the responsibility of breaking this relationship between them. While fulfilling a business assignment given by Dabas, Mickey meets Kinchi’s girlfriend Tinni Malhotra (Shraddha Kapoor). Dabas’s break-up stays away, and here Mickey and Tiny’s romance begins. Although Mickey and Tinni love each other very much, they also have a great contrast in their natures. And this contradiction creates a gap between the two. The distance becomes so much that the arranged marriage of both breaks and the two separate. And yes, the professional responsibility of separating the two unfortunately also falls on Mickey. Why and how did all this happen? What is the contradiction between them and how do they get out of it is the next part of the story.
What’s special?- Storyline and direction. Yes, the story-screenplay, dialogue and direction of the film, all aspects handled by Luv Ranjan, are amazing. Stumbling along the interlude, the slow-paced story picks up some momentum after a twist at the interval point that keeps you hooked till the very end. Especially the pre-climax and climax of the film which is usually the last half an hour is a lot of fun. Luv Ranjan’s ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama Part 1 & 2’ has many unique Karthik Aryan style monologue scenes which are spoken by Ranbir. There is no doubt that today’s youth will enjoy watching and listening to these scenes, but the dialogues in them are written in a sharp manner, which transcends the age limit.
If you (i.e. the audience beyond youth) have seen the trailer of the film and decided that ‘this film is of the typical rom-com genre and seems to appeal only to the youth, then you can avoid.’ But no. It’s not like that. Surprisingly, this movie is a complete family entertainer! Because as much as Ranbir-Shraddha’s romance makes you laugh, the family scenes in it will also unconsciously make you cry. In some scenes, there was a situation where you could smile on your cheeks and in your eyes at the same time. Especially in the climax scenes. Luv Ranjan has not given even the faintest idea of the film’s plot from the trailer and that’s why I have also taken care not to include any spoilers in the brief plot written above. Along with Luv Ranjan, Rahul Modi is also credited with screenplay dialogues.
After the story-screenplay-dialogue and direction, what makes it special is the amazing performance of Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. Specially Ranbir He always looks handsome and extremely attractive, but what can we say about this! He has looks that make young women go crazy. The suggestion that Ranbir should have a separate gallery at home for the award he will receive for this role. Mind blowing. Shraddha looks good but special kudos to her for the ease with which she portrays Tinni.
Pritam’s super hit music is another plus side. The song ‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ is already liked by the youth. The rest of the cast has done a great job as well, but we have to give special praise to Anubhav Singh Bassi and Dimple Kapadia as Ranbir’s mother. Vibrant colorful cinematography, melodious background music are some other positive aspects.
What’s new? – Original plot. Not a remake of any movie or inspired from any movie.
Where does it fall short? – No grip as it should be till the interval. So the first half may seem a bit dull. After the interval, a flaw appears at one point in the screenplay.
Watch it or Not?- Of course. It is a refreshing experience. For the whole family.
Star rating – 3.5 stars. Superhit.
