Ashok Ujlambkar

Ashok Ujlambkar was born on June 10, 1950 in Naldurg, Maharashtra. He completed his education from BA, BEd, MA and Bachelor of Journalism from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. He worked as a co-teacher of English at Vidnyan Vardhini High School, Aurangabad from 1968 to 1998. He was working as a Guest Lecturer in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University from 1990 to 2010. Meanwhile, he was also working as a Guest Lecturer at Maulana Azad Horniman College of Journalism and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He has written extensively in various dailies in Maharashtra on films, television such as Dainik Lokmat, Sakal, Tarun Bharat, Marathwada, Ajanta etc.
To date, he has conducted 3365 interviews as a film critic. He founded the Diwali issue of Navrang Ruperi in 1987 and edited it for almost 30 years. Navrang Ruperi Anka has so far received 35 state level awards for the best Diwali issue. These include Vidyaratna Pratishthan, Pune, Shabdsagar Udyogvedh, Pune, Rotary Club Pune Parvati-Lokmanya Nagar, Sahitya Vichar Manthan, Kalyan, Sahitya Darwal Manch, Dadar, Aksharrang Vyaspeeth, Kalyan, Neelnanda Foundation, Mumbai, Marathi Newspaper Writers Association, Karveer Kashi Foundation , Kolhapur and Letter Summary Foundation, Indore.
In 1995, he founded Sai Advertisers and Ajinkya Public Relations Advisory. He also founded Ajinkya Prakashan. He has also written various books on film. His most famous books on film are Tumhe Yaad Hoga (History of Hindi Film), Rasik Balma (Hindi Film Music), Lights Camera Action (Journey of 40 Hindi Film Directors), Wo Jab Yaad Aaye (Singer in Hindi Film), Mohen Bhool Gaye Saawariya ( Heroines in Hindi films) etc. are very helpful for students studying on film medium. His book Lights Camera Action was released in 2014 at the Whistling Woods International, Mumbai by renowned Hindi film director Subhash Ghai. He also conducts various audio-visual programs based on film music.
These include mainly Binaka Geetmala, Char Choughi, Maharashtra Bhushan Sulochana, Ashi Me Jayashree, Madhubala to Madhuri Dixit, Ek Sham Sahir Ke Naam etc. He is currently the Secretary of the well-known Kai Narayanrao Ujalambakar Public Library in Aurangabad. He is the Treasurer of the Teachers Education Society, Aurangabad, established in 1966. He is a former member and secretary of the Rotary Club of Aurangabad and has been honored with the Paul Harris Fellow Award at Rotary.
