Famous comedian and actor Mushtaq Merchant, who worked in films, died on Monday 27 December at Holy Family Hospital in Mumbai. Mushtaq Merchant, 67, was battling diabetes for a long time. Mushtaq’s family has confirmed the news of his death.
Mushtaq had worked in many famous Bollywood films like ‘Hath Ki Safai’, ‘Sita Aur Geeta’, ‘Jawani Deewani’, ‘Sagar’, ‘Pyaar Ka Saaya’ and ‘Fifty Fifty’. Mushtaq also acted in Bollywood blockbuster film ‘Sholay’ but his role was cut due to the length of the film.
Mushtaq left acting 16 years ago due to diabetes. After this Mushtaq became a Sufi and engaged himself only in religious activities. Mushtaq’s last rites will be performed with full religious rituals.
